Today we started by getting directly into our individual study plans. Each student worked on the next lesson of their study plan, then we all came together to discuss and Mrs. Colwell added some content to what Apex had discussed in the lessons. As students finished their lessons, they set up USATestPrep accounts and took at small practice GHSGT.
HOMEWORK: Do a practice GHSGT and redo missed questions.

Today we started by converting units using dimensional analysis. Then we received the correct measurements for the alien density lab:
- Colwellium = 0.108 æ/€
- Taylorium = 0.0871 æ/€
- Morganium – 0.677 æ/¤
- Richium = 0.235 æ/¤
- Twarogium = 0.131 æ/¤
- Fresium = 0.0355 æ/¤
- Ocean fluid = 0.120 æ/¤

After going over the lab and sorting out last minute questions, we did the chapter 2 diagnostic test on Apex. This generated individual learning plans for each student. Students finished the block by working on the first lesson in their learning plan.

Happy Friday! Today is our first Lab Day.
We started class by doing a Dimensional Analysis practice and going over the Dimensional Analysis homework. Then we talked briefly about lab safety before getting started on the lab.

Today we started by going over the homework (Dimensional Analysis and Problem Solving worksheets). Then we did lesson 1.3.3 about observation. We talked a little about laboratory safety and received the lab assignments for Friday. We started the laboratory write-up for the Alien Identification lab.

Today we started with the question: Why is it important to have a standard set of measurements?
Then we quickly reviewed the homework and reading assignment from the weekend over units and measurements. Then we started our lesson on Dimensional Analysis and the 5-step problem solving method. Students made notecards to remind themselves of the steps.

Today we started by retaking the 1.1.4 quiz using our own Apex Learning logins. Then we went through section 1.2.1 in Apex Learning together while filling out the study sheet. Finally, we took the 1.2.2 quiz..
Homework: Read the textbook chapter 2 section 1 and do the corresponding Science Notebook pages. Come to class with any questions you have as we will be moving on to the next topic.

Today we started by doing module 1.1.6: Using the Scientific Process. This is an internet exploration activity. Unfortunately, we had difficulties with one of the links and lost a bit of time. We finished by going through the journal article together.

Lesson: Continue notes over the scientific process (1.1.3) . Quiz 1.1.4.
Homework: Do a reflection over section 1.1. Reflections need to be at least 3/4 page and include:

- The standards covered in this lesson (use the GPS standards guided given to you in class)
- EXPLAIN what you learned
- indicate anything that you still do not quite understand.

Today we started by answering the Q.O.T.D.: How does observation and the scientific process lead to the evolution of scientific understanding?
Then we took the Apex Learning Quiz 1.1.2. And did the 1.1.3 study: The Scientific Process. While going through the study we took Cornell notes.
